About the Mississippi Riverlands Council
Formed in 2026 by merger of the Andrew Jackson Council and the Choctaw Area Council, the Mississippi Riverlands Council operates the headquarters for the professional and volunteer staff that serves thousands of youth members throughout Central, East and Southwest Mississippi.
In addition to providing program planning, development, and record keeping, the Council operates two premier facilities: the 1,300 acre Hood Scout Reservation, located in Copiah County, and 430 acre Camp Binachi, in Lauderdale County. Both facilities host our many outdoor programs.
